A New Choice for Class 9

For the 2026-27 session, CBSE has introduced two levels for Mathematics and Science: Standard and Advanced. This choice, made in Class 9, will define the difficulty level of the student's board examinations in Class 10.

Standard Level: Foundational Excellence

The Standard level is designed for all students. it covers the entire curriculum with a focus on conceptual understanding and practical application. It is perfect for students who want a strong foundation without the added complexity of highly advanced competitive track problems.

Advanced Level: Competitive Edge

The Advanced level is optional and caters to students who have a strong interest in STEM fields or are aiming for high-proficiency competitive exams like JEE or NEET. It includes more complex problem-solving and deeper theoretical dives.

How to Choose

Look at your career goals. If you're passionate about engineering or research, Advanced might be for you. If you're aiming for humanities, commerce, or medicine, Standard level provides more than enough rigor.
